My owls at Martha Stewart

Image
I am quite happy that my new owls got to be in her website. I made an entry to a contest for "Calling all crafters" for all your best creations at marthastewart.com, and I am one of the winners. Take a look at www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/your-best-handmade-cre... I am creating more owls, but in a slow pace... got to find more time.

owls.. owls....owls... and flat cards.

These are the newest versions I made. They are my newest companions. It only take me 2-3 hours to create one, but with full time work and 2 boys... only late nights I can find some time to sit down and star cutting the many small triangles in different felt colors. Then... the rest is fun! A family :)...Yes! I am one of the winners for submitting these owls to a contest called "Calling all crafters" at martha stewart web site... www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/your-best-handmade-cre... More owls... more flat cards.... I can't get enough. See new items posted on my little shop.

Love cute owls...

Martha Stewart Show, April 29th

Image
Yes, I was there for a recording session of the show. It was the special for Mother's day... so, I took my mom as my guest. We got there last one on the line. It was cloudy, cold and raining. It wouldn't be that bad if we didn't have to wait for almost 2 hours to get into the checking entrance. Once we were inside, there were so many people already waiting to get into the studio. So we wait for another 30 minutes. I was exhausted already. Once, finally is our turn to get to sit in the studio. The recording studio is beautiful set and it's so Martha... we were sitting left side on the first end row. Not bad... I guess my mom and I enjoyed the show. My mother was more excited because of the gifts they were giving... chocolates from Jacques Torres Chocolate , Mellissa Errico Lullabies & Wildflowers CD , and a Flip Video recorder. Outside studio. Behind FIT at 26 st and 7 av. Checking area entrance posters

National Stationery Show in NYC, May 19

I was so excited to go to my first stationary show, It was great. Many company names were familiar to me, since I spent many of my lunch hours in a stationary store checking the cards who made what design. In the show, I found many gorgeous designs and great ideas. I am not surprised a lot of independent designers are doing letterpress or silk screening. Not forgetting going Green! Many of the big names are getting into letterpress or silk screening too. I visited the booths participating on the Hand made Hellos Meet n getaway . I meet each of them and talk about their type of printing they are using on their stationary. I asked few of them on where they get their inspiration.

new york city and the fashion/garment distric

Lived around the metro area for over 20 years... time passed so fast since I started my new life in the states. I was in Flushing, queens... married... lived for a year in San Francisco... came back to NY to live in Brooklyn... later we found our new home in Parlin, NJ. It's about 30 minutes to downtown NYC. My point in this post is not to tell you where I had lived for the last 20 years of my life... it's to tell you about NYC. It's a unique city like no other... of course it's New York City. I love design... and I think NYC has it all...in fashion, interior design, graphic design... If you are interested in fashion, please visit the garment fashion district booth, located at 37th and 7av. or visit the fashion center website: http://www.fashioncenter.com/ for more info. I am lucky to be exposed many fabric stores, design studios, professionals and get inspiration from different sources around, such as fashion events. I can spend couple days to visit all type of store...
